A simple introduction for seekers, students, and anyone who wants to understand why Christians trust and follow Jesus.

Forgiveness and a fresh start

The core Christian claim is that Jesus entered human life, carried the weight of sin, died on a cross, and rose again so that people can be reconciled to God.

Who Is Jesus?

Christians believe Jesus is God stepping into human life. He was not distant or abstract; He entered ordinary human experience and came near to people with mercy and truth.

  • He welcomed people who were overlooked or ashamed.
  • He taught with authority and compassion.
  • He invites people to forgiveness, trust, and new life with God.

Where Was Jesus Born?

The Gospel accounts describe Jesus as being born in Bethlehem, a small town connected to the story of King David.

  • His birth was humble, not centered in political power.
  • Christians see His coming as the fulfillment of God's promise to rescue and restore.

Did Jesus Really Exist?

Christian faith is centered on Jesus as a real person in history, while the deeper claim of who He is becomes a matter of faith, trust, and response.

  • The Gospel accounts place Jesus in the setting of known rulers and places.
  • Some ancient non-Christian writers also refer to Jesus or early Christians, though those references are best explored carefully with context.

What Made Him Different?

Jesus taught about God's Kingdom, loved enemies, confronted hypocrisy, cared for the suffering, and welcomed people into repentance and faith.

  • He used memorable stories called parables.
  • He drew near to people who were spiritually hungry, wounded, curious, or rejected.

Why the Cross Matters

The cross is central to Christianity. Christians believe Jesus gave Himself for sin and rose again, opening the way for people to be reconciled to God.

  • His death is understood as sacrifice, not accident.
  • His resurrection is the foundation of Christian hope.
  • The invitation is to turn toward Him in faith.
